Blizzard: We'd Probably Agree to Do a StarCraft Movie if James Cameron Was Involved
A StarCraft movie is possible but only if the right people are up for the job.
I've always thought that a StarCraft movie would be awesome if it was done right, and it seems I'm not alone in my opinion. StarCraft publisher Blizzard has said they'd love to make the movie, as long as the creative minds behind the flick are the perfect fit.
Speaking about the World of Warcraft movie, and the possibility of bringing other franchises to the big screen, Rob Pardo, the EVP of Game Design at Blizzard, told MTV that his company has always wanted to go down the cinema or TV route with its franchises, but finding the right production team for the job is a must for such a project.
"We've always had an interest in seeing our stuff on film or TV. It's just tricky to find the right partners," said Pardo. "We probably could have made a ['StarCraft'] movie or something on TV years and years ago, but it's really important to us that we find creative people that are really talented but also really excited about our properties. That's always been the challenge for us."
"I think if Jim Cameron came to us tomorrow and said, 'You want to make a 'StarCraft' movie?' we'd probably sign that."
Though many dislike him, you can't argue that James Cameron isn't passionate about the projects he takes on, and having that much passion behind a StarCraft movie would be every fan's dream come true.
Do you think James Cameron would do a good job if he were to work on a StarCraft movie? Let us know in the comments below!

proxy711 As long as blizzard was deeply involved in the production i really don't think they could go wrong with just about anyone directing.Reply -
alexttlyrocks say what you will about avatar but the special effects and all were pretty epic. I think If he made star craft it would truly put new meaning to the word epic. just as long as its not more blue smurfs having sex =)Reply -
pharge yes... he would be nice.Reply
However, if you want the movie to be great... I want Peter Jackson and make another 3 movies (ugh... 1 big movie cut to 3 piece) out of it.. -
xSpyke The only issue I'd have is if it strays from the story of StarCraft too much. I mean, it will a little bit, that's inevitable, but as long as it's not the 'Super Mario Bros.' movie (and many other video game-to-movie creations), it should be okay.Reply -
rohitbaran Well, he may not be best with the story, but after Avatar, he is truly the king of visual treats. Even with a mediocre starcraft story which may disappoint the hardcore fans, he should be able to make a movie which astounds everyone with its presentation.Reply -
Chetou OMG! And I thought the story was one of Starcraft's better points. Oh, well, since Blizzard is becoming more of a BS company every day, it shouldn't really surprise me that Cameron is their preferred choice. It's been a downward spiral for both of them after all, with Blizzard's attitude towards its customers, and Cameron's pathetically bad movies (though in a beautiful wrapping).Reply -
pangedit As long as they dont fit the whole thing in one movie I think Im good with it :D Make it a 2 part or a 3 part even.Reply
