Report: LG Looking to Expand Partnership with Google
Given the history of Google’s Nexus smartphones and the popularity of the Nexus 4, it was a safe assumption that Google would once again be partnering with LG for the next Nexus smartphone.
Korea Times seems to have confirmed this and noted that Google CEO Larry Page met with LG CEO Koo Bon-Joon in Seoul recently to discuss “ways to improve their business partnership.”
LG is reportedly seeking to extend its partnerships to televisions and “future businesses, such as Google Glass” and requires help from Google to “continue its business momentum in smartphones and TVs.” According to Korea Times’ sources, the two executives also “exchanged views about the latest mega trend in the global information technology (IT) industry” and “discussed how to form an alliance in futuristic projects as part of the big picture.”
