UK Newspaper Offers Subscribers £50 Nexus 7
The Times says it can guarantee delivery by December 25 for orders made before December 12th.
Tablets are made for consuming content and the UK's Times newspaper is hoping to tempt folks into subscribing to the newspaper by offering a discounted Android tablet along with its subscription.
The offer involves an 18-month subscription at a price of £17.33 per month plus an extra £50 for Google's 32GB Nexus 7. The total for the subscription and tablet works out to just shy of £362. If you feel like saving yourself almost £63, you can opt for the up-front option that will see you fork over a one-off payment of £299.
The regular price of the Nexus 7 is £199 (before retailer-specific discounts, etc.), so this deal is really only worth your while if you are already planning to subscribe to the Times Digital Pack subscription for a year and a half or if that sounds like something you might be interested in.
For those that need a refresher, the Nexus 7 packs 32GB of storage, a 7-inch, 1280 x 800 HD display, Nvidia's quad-core Tegra 3 processor under the hood alongside a 12-core GPU and 1GB RAM. The tablet also has 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi (there's no 3G or 4G connectivity here), as well as NFC, GPS, a gyroscope, an accelerometer, a mic, and a 1.2-megapixel camera on the front of the tablet.
