Amped Wireless Makes MU-MIMO Affordable With Its Artemis Line

This past year, a handful of MU-MIMO products were released and were most often found in enthusiast or flagship products, thus making them expensive. Amped Wireless intends to change this with the announcement of the Artemis line. The Artemis High Power AC1300 Wi-Fi Router, Artemis-EX High Power AC1300 Range Extender and Artemis-AP High Power AC1300 Access Point, all feature MU-MIMO technology and speeds of up to 450 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and up to 867 Mbps on the 5.0 GHz band. If you’re having trouble getting reception in your own home due to walls and weak coverage, then MU-MIMO equipment might be worth looking into.

Multitasking is the name of the game with MU-MIMO technology, and never have our wireless networks ever had to multitask as much as they do now. With multiple devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops being connected, MU-MIMO will become vital in our home networks. Upcoming MU-MIMO products, including the Artemis line, feature Qualcomm VIVE with Qualcomm MU|EFX Multi-User MIMO technology. With this, wirelessly connected devices that are MU-MIMO enabled can expect wireless speeds to increase by up to three times single-user MIMO speeds.

MU-MIMO turns out more affordable than Tri-Band routers, albeit, it needs MU-MIMO capable devices. One comment though, MU-MIMO does not improve range or getting through walls as mentioned above.
