Amped Wireless Makes MU-MIMO Affordable With Its Artemis Line

This past year, a handful of MU-MIMO products were released and were most often found in enthusiast or flagship products, thus making them expensive. Amped Wireless intends to change this with the announcement of the Artemis line. The Artemis High Power AC1300 Wi-Fi Router, Artemis-EX High Power AC1300 Range Extender and Artemis-AP High Power AC1300 Access Point, all feature MU-MIMO technology and speeds of up to 450 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and up to 867 Mbps on the 5.0 GHz band. MU-MIMO, which stands for Multi User Multiple-Input & Multiple-Output, is an upcoming wireless technology that is capable of sending packets of data to multiple devices simultaneously. Traditional single-user MIMO devices may service only one device at a time in a round-robin fashion. The delay between devices often goes unnoticed, but data-intensive programs such as streaming or gaming over a wireless connection makes this delay apparent. MU-MIMO technology seeks to bypass this limitation.
