Asus Debuts Trio Of Transformer Book Chi 2-In-1s At CES, Models Start At $299

The devices are just all under 8mm thick, and most of the SKUs boast a 2560x1440 IPS display (135ppi) with Asus Truvivid technology. Features across the lineup include stereo speakers and full-size keyboards, and they purportedly have up to 8 hours of battery life.

The flagship of the group, the T300 Chi, sports an Intel Core M chip, has 4GB and 8GB RAM options and rocks a 128GB SSD. It boasts a 2560x1440 IPS display (135ppi) with Asus Truvivid technology, although there’s also a Full HD option, as well. Other features include stereo speakers and a full-size keyboard, plus it purportedly offers up to eight hours of battery life. What's more, it’s just 7.6mm thin.

The T100 Chi is a 10.1-inch device with a quad-core Intel Atom processor and a 1920x1200 IPS display. There’s 2GB of RAM on board the 7.2mm-thick 2-in-1, along with 64GB of storage. It ships with Windows 8.1 and one free year of Microsoft Office 365 Personal. The unit promises up to 10 hours of battery life.

The little sibling of the Chi lineup is the T90 Chi, which measure 8.9 inches with a 1200x800 display resolution, 2GB of RAM, and 32 or 64GB of storage. It’s 7.5mm thick and comes with a keyboard dock that’s more reminiscent of older tablet-and-keyboard models than new 2-in-1s. Like the T100 Chi, it ships with Windows 8.1 and Office 365 Personal. This model also runs on a quad-core Intel Atom chip.

The highest-end T300 Chi starts at $799, and the Full HD version is $699. You can have the T100 Chi and T90 Chi for $399 and $299, respectively.

The whole lineup will be available in February.

The 8.9" model looks a lot like the old Sharp Wizard organizers from the late 90's*. But they can do a lot more than the Wizards can.

    * - Watch the 9th season of Seinfeld if you don't know what a Wizard organizer is.
