Pricing trend shows growing acceptance of DDR2

The recent rally of DDR2 pricing, especially for effectively tested (eTT) chips, may portend the the growth of DDR2 penetration in the channel, rather than only in the PC OEM segment. Spot prices of 512 Mb DDR2 chips have been increasing since early July, with the latest quote on July 19 being $4.30, representing 19% growth in just 12 days, according to figures posted by DRAMeXchange.
