Earlier this week, Samsung announced the Gamepad, a gaming peripheral for mobile phones similar to the Moga controller. Now, as the week draws to a close, we're hearing rumors that Samsung may bundle the controller with the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0.
Engadget points to an All About Samsung posting from Germany that carries an image of a Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition bundle. This special pack includes the Galaxy Tab 3, the GamePad and an HDMI adapter. No pricing just yet, but you can bet it won't be cheap. The GamePad costs $110 as a standalone item, and the Galaxy Tab 3, depending on capacity, can cost up to $250.
The GamePad is compatible with mobile devices from 4 inches to 6.3 inches in size, and connects to the smartphone via a Bluetooth connection. Of course, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 is much too large to fit. As such, that HDMI adapter will allow you to connect to the GamePad without docking your device. The GamePad supports Android 4.1, meaning gamers should be able to use this device on non-Samsung phones and tablets.
