Still a very rare sight and scheduled to become available in volume at the end of August: Intel's brand new Core 2 Duo T-series processor, previously code-named "Merom". The chip pictured is the high-end T7600 version, clocked at 2.33 GHz.

First performance benchmark Sysmark 2004SE: The T7600 is about 18% faster than the T2600.
Similar gains can be seen in the first set of Internet Content Creations test runs.
In the web creation discipline, the T7600 shows its greatest gains so far (+23%).
The range of about 15-20% improvement continues in office productivity applications. However, only the higher clock speed helped Merom to surpass Yonah in the Communication segment.
