'Stardew Valley' Beginners Guide
Stardew Secret Woods
If you have upgraded your axe at least twice, then you can get access to a secret forest. To access it, head to the Wizard’s tower in the woods to the west. Then, look at the north side of the tower; you will see a large wooden log blocking the access to the area. Chop that log with your axe to get access. You will find slimes to kill and several hardwood tree stumps that respawn daily.
Place Your Machines in the Barn
This is an effective way to tend to your animals and get products ready all at once. Placing the processing machines inside the coop/barn will save you a lot of time.
Let's say your cheese processing machine is in the same barn as your cow. When you collect cow milk you can leave it in the machine. Then, you can collect the cheese on your next visit while also putting new milk from that day into the machine. Through this method, you will not have to go out of your way to process animal products.
You Don't Have to Pet Every Animal
Here's a lesson for Stardew Valley and possibly life: You do not have to pet every animal. If you do so, you will be wasting a lot of time, and if you have a lot of animals, then petting every animal on a daily basis will become frustrating for you. Our advice is to continue with your daily routine in the coop or barn and pet only those animals that come in your way. This way, animals will remain happy and you'll save a lot of time. Besides, petting animals only increases mood and friendship and nothing else.
Deluxe Pig Truffles
You can purchase a pig from Marnie’s Ranch for just 16,000 gold, but you need to have a Deluxe Barn first. Pigs mature after a 10-day period and then dig up truffles, which you can sell for 625 gold. There are some rules that must be followed to make sure your pig finds truffles. For one, you have to let the pig wander outside. You need to put the pigs in a natural pasture area; floor, gravel, etc. will not work. And pigs can't find truffles in rain or during the winter.
Got Milk?
You can purchase a cow at Marnie’s Ranch for just 1,500 gold once you get a barn. You can get the cow in two different varieties: white or brown. But you don't get to select the color of the cow; the game will randomly choose for you.
Your cow will mature after five days and then it will be able to produce milk, which you can get every morning. A cow produces two types of milk: milk and large milk. In order to get the large milk, you need to increase your friendship with your cow. You can increase the friendship by milking the cow using milk pail, which increases friendship by 5 points.
