Desktop Logitech LX: Comfort and Style

Media Life

The major software innovation here is called Media Life, and Logitech includes it free as part of the package. It's an interface developed by Cyberlink and very similar to Microsoft's Media Center. Logitech will probably eventually offer software and hardware solutions for centralized control of your "digital home." Meanwhile, the interface will come in handy for users among your family and friends who are not familiar with navigation on a computer. The principle is simple. You use the software to perform a search that locates all the MP3s, photos, and videos on your computer. It then sorts them by author, album, etc. After that, you can start Media Life by pressing a single key to access all this digital content easily.

Using the mouse or keyboard, even inexperienced users can browse photos, listen to music, view videos, and adjust settings without having to deal with the complexities of Windows. Most of you will see it as a gimmick, but I find it practical. Everyone has friends, companions, children, or parents who are unfamiliar with computers and who'll now be able to take advantage of digital content.
