Dell Discounts XPS 10 Windows RT Slate Down to $300

Dell has reportedly dropped the price of its current Windows RT tablet, the XPS 10. Previously the entry-level tablet cost $449.99, but now the price has been slashed down to $299.99 USD. The drop is reportedly due to underwhelming sales of Windows RT tablets, but could be merely a way to flush out the current stock in order to make room for the newer Windows RT (8.1) models.

Dell's discounted tablet features a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 SoC clocked at 1.5 GHz, 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage, a 10.1-inch HD Display (1366x768) with capacitive multi-touch, a 2MP camera on the front, a 5MP camera on the back, and a 28Wh 2-Cell Lithium Ion battery promising up to 10 1/2 hours of battery life. Because the hardware is ARM-based, the tablet uses Windows RT, which is not compatible with Windows-based desktop software sold on AMD and Intel-based computers.

at that price point it's actually worth it to get it and install android yourself... it's cheaper than similar speced android tablets if you consider the cost of the keyboard as well

    The keyboard isn't included. That's another $100.

I didn't even consider WinRT when I bought my Nexus7, but at this price I probably would have.

Apple did it RIGHT, MIcroshit did it WRONG.
Apple created a OS specifically for the Tablet
Microshit created a OS to drain our wallet (as they always try to do)

Apparently, you can get one for $199 if you buy a $799 or more laptop from Dell. Could be tempted if I am gonna buy a new laptop which I am. But then, I'm waiting for Haswell.
