Wall•E PC Case Mod is Simply Awesome

Next news
6:41 PM - April 9, 2009 by Marcus Yam

If you're a fan of building your own PC or modding one from scratch, then you'll definitely appreciate what a modding enthusiast from Russia has done. Best. Case. Ever.

As PC hardware enthusiasts, we have seen more than our fair share of custom case jobs. In fact, we’ve seen so many side windows, LED lights, racing stickers, gigantic rear wings that seeing something completely stock and understated is a breath of fresh air. But after we saw pictures of this Wall•E case mod, we’d have to say it’s one of the best we’ve ever seen, and definitely the most amazing.

The final product you see below is a result of 18 days worth of work and access to some pretty precision tools. It’s clearly no simple project for the DIYer. Check out the collection of pictures here for an idea of the process.

Wow, it made my un-mod Antec looks cheap and most moded case trash. The actually case that holds the hardware is so simple compares with the casing. Best mod I ever saw.

The Schnoz :
The case mode is awesome, but the system inside is horrible. Look at the ports it has on the back, ps2 ports, parallel, serial, vga, come on, how dated is that? Someone needs to give this guy from free hardware to upgrade this awesome case.

Your normal ATX motherboard wont fit in here. His choices were limited I'm sure.

Amazingly detailed mod. No, you can't have one, go machine it yourself. He could have scaled it up a bit to put more/better hardware, but it still sits on his desk, as well it should.

Awsome work, and I too believe he should find a company to mass-produce it. I know I'd buy one for my wife's computer.. She mostly just surfs and chats, sometimes playing Diablo once in a while, so a very powerfull computer isn't needed. And I'd get a pleasure of watching it here on the desk between our displays :D

And though an IT admin shouldn't probably say this.. I'm going all out and simply saying - HE IS SOOOOOOO CUTEEE!! :D

Oh, and @ Chris - I don't care if it won't run Crysis :P ;)
