Planning & Preparation Make The Job Go Faster

Before we could start our installation, there was a considerable amount of planning and "prep work"' that we had to do. We are going to skip over the routine part of building the computer rather quickly, since most readers have likely already built a system or two. We will focus more on the enhancements that we will need to make as a result of some of the styling that are putting into the case.

Before we get started, we need to strip off both the side panels and the front bezel. These need to be placed well away from the case mod action so that they are not damaged or scratched.

We already decided that we wanted to sleeve the cables for the fans. Upon inspection of the Kingwin KT-424-BK-WM, we realized that the KT-424-BK-WM has a fan controller in the front of the case behind the bezel; thus, there was already a cut out for the three pin cables to flow from the fan to this connection. Further, this cut out area was completely hidden from view from outside the case, so there was no real need to sleeve these two fan cables. Thus, we just installed the fans as they were.

As you can see with the new fans installed, the green glow is bright enough to show through the grill, even with the filter in place.
