AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile to Carry BlackBerry 10

Three major U.S. carriers -- Verizon AT&T and T-Mobile -- have confirmed that it will carry RIM's BlackBerry 10.

The carriers confirmed that they plan to offer its subscribers BlackBerry 10 handsets on their networks. "We're extremely optimistic that it's going to be a successful product and our business customers are extremely interested in it," T-Mobile USA chief executive John Legere told Reuters.

AT&T's handset executive Jeff Bradley, meanwhile, said, "It's logical to expect our current [BlackBerry] customers will have the best BlackBerry devices to choose from in the future."

Research In Motion, which previously said over 50 carriers are testing BlackBerry 10, will launch the forthcoming operating system globally on January 30, as well as announcing the first smartphones powered by the platform.

otacon72I was with RIM for many many years but left about a year ago. I have an upgrade coming due in March and if they can pull it off I'll switch back. Never had to worry about security or malware with them. Blackberry wishes they had a malware problem, that would mean enough people use it to attract the attention of malware developers. Somehow I think malware won't be a big issue for RIM for quite some time.
