Thursday Gearbox Software released the launch trailer for Duke Nukem Forever, stomping any doubts that the previous "gone gold" announcement was just a big joke and that fans would have to wait another decade. But it seems that June 14 (this month!) is a definite date, and the launch trailer now serves as an official invitation to the post-E3 party.
In addition to the trailer, Gearbox revealed that members of the la-de-dah First Access Club will get an extra bonus on launch day. "With the Duke Nukem Forever demo just around the corner for members of the First Access Club there, Gearbox Software and 2K Games are thrilled to announce that the First Access Club benefits don't stop there!" the developer teased. "Any First Access Club member who has registered as of today will receive the very first downloadable Duke Nukem Forever multiplayer add-on pack for free when it's released! Surprise!"
Gearbox didn't go into details on what the DLC will include, but fans may receive extra maps, weapons and/or unlocked characters. Eager fans can still get into the First Access Club by (1) pre-ordering the game from select retailers or (2) by purchasing the Borderlands Game of the Year Edition on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system and Windows PC. This exclusive membership also grants early access to the playable demo on June 3 – outsiders don't get to play until sometime thereafter.
