Airlines to build iPod connectivity into jets
Cupertino (CA) - Your iPod not only connects into the stereo system of your car, but will soon also hook up to the in-flight entertainment systems in airplanes of Air France, Continental, Delta, Emirates, KLM and United.
The companies announced that they will begin offering seat connections which power and charge iPods during flight and allow the video content on their iPods to be viewed on seat back displays. The first systems are planned to be available in mid 2007. Apple said that is also working with Panasonic Avionics Corporation to bring iPod connectivity to more airlines in the future.
