Noctua Offers Free Mounting Hardware For Upcoming Haswell-E

Noctua is offering free mounting hardware upgrades for some of its CPU coolers to ensure that older models will be compatible with the high-end LGA2011-3 socket.

Many of the newer CPU coolers already come with mounting hardware that is compatible with past LGA2011 sockets, which also makes them compatible with the new LGA2011-3 socket; these include the NH-D15, the NH-D14 SE2011, the NH-U14S and the NH-U12S. However, some older coolers don't ship with the SecuFirm2 mounting hardware and are therefore not compatible.

If you own one of these older coolers and need the hardware to mount your cooler on one of the upcoming Haswell-E CPUs, you can order it free of charge on Noctua's website. Note that it does not apply to all the CPU coolers, and to qualify you will need to show a proof of purchase for both the eligible Noctua CPU cooler as well as a proof of purchase for either a Haswell-E CPU or a supporting motherboard.

We saw this same offer in the past for Noctua's NH-L9a cooler for Mini-ITX systems, Haswell systems, and LGA2011 when it came around. For more information, see the compatibility charts on Noctua's website.

pretty standard in the industry with the high end equipment. Corsair does the same thing with all their watercoolers.
