ZealPC Announces Zealios Silent Tactile Switches

ZealPC began as a small company producing custom sleeved cables, but now it’s become an essential part of the mechanical keyboard community. Its latest contribution is Silent Tactile switches, which the company has now confirmed that it’s working on.

ZealPC's new Silent Tactile switch lineup will include the same four spring weight offerings as their original Tactile Zealio switches. They will be available in 62g, 65g, 67g, and 78g. You'll be able to purchase them by the end of the year or early January.

Update 2, 12/11/17, 8:28am PT: ZealPC confirmed that is it not working on Silent Clicky switches at this time. The above article has been amended to reflect that information.

Update, 12/8/17, 1:32pm PT: ZealPC replied to our query with information about the weights of the Silent Tactile switch lineup. We've added that information above.

I'd like to point out the manufacturer of the Zealio switches, Gateron, already makes a silent tactile, the silent brown. So Zeal won't even be the first.

Silent Clicky switch? Wha? Clicky switches make noise (surprisingly a click... sometimes a clack) by design. It's not Clicky if it's Silent.

The "Silent" name just refers to the fact that it includes a dampener built into the switch. It's definitely ironic, though!

Tactile means you can feel that you pressed the key.

"Clicky" means you can hear the key being pressed.

It is possible to have any combination of tactile and "clicky".

Isn't Cherry MX Brown and Clear essentially silent tactile switches?
