Tuner Performance
A weak signal as viewed from a standard VCR
The PVR-550 shows moderately weaker reception
Diamond XtremeTV PVR-550 reception was moderately weaker than what you'd typically see from other household devices such as your TV or VCR. Even so, it's better than many PC receivers, and a cable booster can reduce such problems.
Stronger channels show up better, but scrolling text is a problem
The PVR-550 performs far better when it receives adequate signal strength. Small problems remain however, such as the poor quality scrolling text and a bit of fuzz at the edges of brightly colored objects.
