Samsung's SV1604N Workhorse Hard Drive for the Home

Benchmarks, Continued

Conclusion

That Samsung's V80 Series stands no chance compared to the benchmarks of high-performance hard drives from Hitachi, Maxtor, Seagate and Western Digital, which is hardly surprising. But when it comes to ergonomic issues, SV1604N really shows off its strengths.

No other hard drive in this generation boasts better heat specs or generates lower noise levels, except perhaps the SV0802N with 80 GB. It almost goes without saying, of course, that the hard drive is still not recommended as a system drive for a modern PC, due to its long access times.
