ZTE Launches Avid 4G Phone $149 No Contract on MetroPCS

Now available contract-free for $149.

ZTE has launched its Avid smartphone in a 4G variant via prepaid carrier MetroPCS, who is now offering the the mid-range 4G LTE handset for $149 without the requirement of a contract.

The ZTE Avid 4G runs on Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with the smartphone being powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor.

It also has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a front-facing VGA camera, with its 4-inch TFT display sporting a 480x800-pixel resolution. Other features include WiFi hotspot, as well as joyn capabilities, which is MetroPCS' content sharing and chat client.

The Chinese manufacturer is currently working on its high-end handset in the form of the quad-core, 5-inch Grand S, which is scheduled for a CES debut. It's also rumored to be working on the Android-powered Grand X Pro.

Pass.the warp comes with the exact same screen, gingerbread, and a single core snapdragon s2. this comes with ICS and a dual core. the warp is on boost and this is on metro. the warp is a good phone at $99 that will get anyone by, but this phone is much better for an extra $50.
