Sharkoon Announces Budget-Friendly Semi-Modular PSU

Sharkoon has announced a new series of budget power supplies, the WPM Bronze series. This series is supposed to provide the essentials in terms of functionality and features at a basic price. The units, as the series name indicates, carry 80 Plus Bronze certification. Cooling is taken care of by a 140 mm fan, so they shouldn't be all that loud, especially under low loads.

Pricing starts at €46.99 with capacities ranging from 400 W to 700 W in 100 W increments.

Good value, from a company I have used in the past for other things. I might give it a try.

Any word on North American pricing? At current exchange rates, we're looking at $65 for the entry-level 400W unit. That's an unimpressive price point considering the fully-modular 80-Plus Gold Rosewill Capstone-M 450W is just $70 from Newegg or Amazon, and can be found "on sale" for $55-60 fairly regularly. For just $50-60, Corsair's CX430M and CX500M Bronze units are readily available, and almost constantly have $10-20 rebates. Those rebates drop the Corsair models' final, post-rebate prices to $30-40.
