Introduction
Intel's mainstream P35 chipset is designed to bridge the gap between DDR2 and DDR3 technologies, supporting its upcoming FSB1333 processors with either memory type, depending on which slots the motherboard manufacturer provides. Most brands carry nearly-identical DDR2 and DDR3 boards, and some even have a model or two with Compare Prices on P35 Motherboards both slot types.

DDR3 may well be the more forward-looking desktop memory standard, but performance fiends who live for today know that today's top DDR2 modules can beat it when bandwidth is limited to parts of the same operating frequency. We've already had a taste of what the P35 can do with some early-version, high latency DDR3-1066, so today we'll consider what this same chipset can achieve when paired with low-latency DDR2 memory set at the same 1066 MHz data rate.
