Next up is POVRay. We ran the default benchmark for this version, which is not multi-threaded. The utilization graph below illustrates this fact perfectly.

We know that POVRay is not multi-threaded, so the results are again not surprising. There are a few interesting points to note from these results. We’re seeing lower power consumption with higher-performance processors, even though the application is single-threaded. If you wanted the best combination of power consumption and performance with default settings, the Athlon II X2 250 is the processor to get.
