Doom 3

7:42 AM - 12/22/2006 by Darren E. Polkowski

In Doom 3 we test with High Quality mode, which sets anisotropic filtering to 8x. We tested first with antialiasing disabled, and a second time with it set to 4x. In Doom 3 we observed that at resolutions of 1024x768 to 1600x1200, the iBuypower CrossFire system outpaced the Quad SLI based system. At the high resolution settings of 2048x1536 and 2560x1600, the Quad system was the winner. When antialiasing was added to the settings, the tables were turned, however: at 1600x1200 and up the CrossFire system outpaced the Quad SLI system by 10 to 15 frames per second.
