The most important stuff is all there. As with the P5AD2-E, the serial connection had to be moved to a slot panel to make room for other hardware.

Asus runs both memory interfaces outside. This allows the use of DDR memory, which can be clocked at 333 or 400, and DDR2 RAM, which can be clocked at 400/533 or even 600. Four slots for DDR2 and two for DDR are provided for this purpose.

As often seen in the past, ITE's UltraATA controller is deployed here too.

For a network port Asus uses the Marvell 88E053, which works with PCI Express.

One of the few motherboards still offering a game port.

Asus goes with a 4-phase regulator for the CPU power supply
- Eight of the components were arranged to allow the addition of a small cooling unit
- The fixed voltage regulators share the load, as is usually the case, all heating up at the same rate.
