System Builder Marathon: Overclocking

3D Games, Continued

Supreme Commander gets its biggest gains from overclocking, with the 3-way SLI configuration showing a performance loss compared to the high-end system's standard settings.

Even after turning on all the eye-candy, Supreme Commander suffers a performance loss with 3-way SLI, while the overclocked settings take an unnecessary gain.

Unreal Tournament 3 performance was already adequate before we overclocked, but the extra boost favors overclocking over 3-way SLI.

Added proof of what we said in earlier marathon tests comes by way of huge performance gains in Warhammer with a simple increase in CPU clock speed. The game is essentially limited by CPU performance.
