Evercool has announced a new CPU cooler, the HPR 9225EA. While the name might confuse some of us, the cooler itself is quite simple. It is an entry-level tower cooler, which stacks 43 aluminum fins that are attached to a pair of heatpipes. The 6 mm thick copper heatpipes make direct contact with the CPU's heat spreader.
The 92 mm supplied fan will spin at speeds of up to 2,200 RPM. At this speed, it pushes out 35.6 CFM of air at a noise level of only 26.3 dBA. While this is a bit loud compared to high-end coolers optimized for silence, remember that this is an entry-level cooler and that you can always run the fan at much lower speeds than the full 2,200 RPM.
The unit measures 97 x 73 x 118 mm, thus fitting in most mid-tower cases. It weighs 400 grams and can be mounted to most CPU sockets. These include Intel's LGA 1155 and LGA 1156 sockets (socket LGA 2011 will not be supported); AMD's sockets include AM2, AM3, AM3+, FM2 and FM1.
