Mtron Announces Fastest SSDs In Existence
Seoul (South Korea) - South Korea-based Mtron has announced the fastest solid state drives in existence. The Pro 7500 drives use a SATA II interface and can read at an amazing 130 megabytes per second and write at 120 MB/sec. Mtron is also claiming 19000 random read operations per second which is approximately 65 times that of traditional hard drives.
The Pro 7500 will be available in June in both 2.5 and 3.5-inch form factors and will sport capacities between 32 and 128 GB. No price has been specified, but expect it to cost an arm and a leg because the drives are meant for enterprise-level servers.
