Aerocool has announced a new series of case fans -- the Air Force fans. The units will come out in two versions: 120 mm and 140 mm.
The goal behind the fans is to create very silent, yet still effective fans. The 120 mm units will spin at speeds of up to 1200 RPM, when they'll push 52.65 CFM, generate 0.91 mm of water in air pressure, and make about 25.4 dBA of noise in the process. The 140 mm models will spin a little slower, at just 1000 RPM. At this speed they will push 62.26 CFM, lift just 0.71 mm of water, and make 25.5 dBA of noise.
Both fans are rated to have a lifetime of 100,000 hours, and both come with an "air circulator." What this should do is focus the outward airflow to a point, rather than to spread it in all directions behind the fans. These add 3 mm to the thickness of the fans and are detachable.
The units will also come in multiple colors; there will be a plain black version as well as LED lit versions with blue, white, orange and red as color options.
Aerocool has priced the 120 mm units at €8 (ex. VAT), while the 140 mm units will set you back €10.50 (ex. VAT).
