In the world of inexpensive gaming peripherals there’s not typically much to get excited over, unless you come across some decent hardware that happens to be priced well. Cooler Master appears to have something like that on its hands with its new CM Storm-branded Octane keyboard and mouse combo.
The keyboard is a standard rubber dome board, but with dedicated media keys, 19-key rollover, adjustable repeat rates and a disable Windows-key button. It also has 7-color LED backlighting with white, light blue, yellow, purple, green, red and dark blue color options, along with an optional "breathing" effect.
Cooler Master fitted the mouse with an Avago 3050 optical sensor, which supports four different DPI levels ranging from 500 through 3500 DPI. It also comes with LED lighting and carries the same color options as the keyboard.
Cooler Master has not revealed pricing, although we don't expect the combo to cost more than about $40.
