We’re back again with yet another weekly Twitch stream. After fighting medieval warriors last week in For Honor, we’re going to switch to the realm of science fiction with 343 Industries’ latest game, Halo Wars 2.
In terms of the story, the sequel to the 2009 game picks up right after the events of Halo 5: Guardians. The crew of the Spirit of Fire just woke up from a long cryosleep, and now you have to command its troops to stop a new threat. A group of separatist forces, known as the Banished, are led by a ferocious leader named Atriox. These foes intend to use the Ark, the Forerunner base that created the Halo rings, for their own evil purposes, and it’s up to you to prevent certain doom by any means necessary.
Because I’ll be playing with my colleagues, Kevin Carbotte and Derek Forrest, we’ll forego the main story campaign in favor of the multiplayer content. Throughout the stream, we’ll try out a traditional multiplayer Deathmatch game to show off gameplay mechanics. In addition, you’ll also get a glimpse of the new Blitz mode, a fast-paced, card-based arena game that pits players against other player or enemy A.I.
If you're looking for more information about the game, you can read up on my earlier previews from last month and last year. If you’re already convinced to buy the game, be sure to take a look at the hardware requirements to see if your PC is up to the task.
