Patriot Increases Speeds With Latest Viper 4 DDR4 Kit
Patriot announced another extension of the Viper 4 series of DDR4 RAM, and at 3600 MHz, this dual-channel kit is the fastest DDR4 memory that the company has released yet.
Patriot previously topped out on speed at 3400 MHz, with dual-channel kits ranging from 8 GB to 16 GB. This time around, the Viper 4 3600 MHz kit will only come in an 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) capacity, with impressive timings of 17-18-18-36. Drawing 1.35 volts, this XMP 2.0 compatible memory kit is backed by a lifetime warranty and is hand-tested for quality assurance.
It is somewhat disappointing that larger capacity kits aren't available for this speedy memory, but keep in mind that similar circumstances were prevalent with the roll out of DDR3 memory when it first arrived to market, with capacities and speeds slowly becoming denser and faster over time. This latest kit is a step up from previously available memory, but it will still be some time until we see higher density DIMMs that can operate at these blazing speeds.
The Viper 4 3600 MHz dual-channel memory kit is available now from Newegg, Amazon, and Fry's Electronics. These premium memory modules have a starting MSRP of $169.99 in North America.
