The Marathon Runner: AMD Turion 64 MT-40
The Turion 64 is based on the AMD64 architecture and can be compared to the Athlon 64 for Socket 754. The Turion MT, however, gets by with a maximum power draw of just 25 W.
The Turion 64 is AMD's mobile single core processor; the MT family remains within a 25 W power envelope, while the ML may require as much as 35 W. We decided to stick with the 2.2 GHz Turion 64 MT-40, even though it is a bit slower than the 2.4 GHz ML-44; the extra 200 MHz is not worth the large difference in power consumption.
