Clearly, all flash SSDs are capable of beating the conventional Hitachi Travelstar 7K200 when it comes to sequential read operations.
Write Transfer Rates
Things look different for write operations: Flash based SSDs can be faster than mechanical drives if they are based on fast SLC memory. However, Sandisk’s SSD5000 cannot beat the Travelstar 7K200.
