Benchmark Results: Synthetics
Synthetic benchmarks typically reveal the raw performance capabilities of components or systems, but they often have only limited meaning in real-life applications. Looking at these results, we can see that performance has basically doubled on average between 2007's 2.66 GHz Kentsfield-based Core 2 and this year's 2.93+ GHz Lynnfield-based Core i7.
