    That's very annoying. Now I'll have to wait until my Vive either fails, or is totally-obsolete, before I upgrade lighthouses.

    so current Vive owners were hoping that they could upgrade to the Vive gen 2 headset (only) down the road and just use their existing base stations and peripherals?

    That's something we may be able to do, since the new headsets work with the old lighthouses.
    The problem is that we can't use the existing headsets with the new lighthouses. I'd like to have tracking in several areas that would work with my existing headset and with new headsets.
