NVIDIA 3D Under Linux
SPECviewperf 6.1.2 - Awadvs-04
The brand new SPECviewperf 6.1.2 is a perfect benchmark to stress a system really hard. Especially the memory, AGP and of course the 3D accelerator are under heavy load.
AWadvs doesn't really make much of a difference between Windows98 and Linux. The btl'ting issue easily explains the slightly lower frame rates under Linux, since this benchmark runs at very high resolution and true color as well.
Athlon can show its muscles here. It may not be a lot faster than Coppermine, but there is certainly a noticeable difference. The scores of the VIA Apollo Pro133A platform are missing due to this mysterious 'stop until mouse gets moved' issue. IT seems as if this platform is not exactly a great choice for the 3D savvy Linux user.
