Gelid Launches the SlimHero Silent Low-Profile CPU Cooler
Gelid Solutions’ SlimHero cooler is specifically designed for use in compact PC cases and is compatible with most recent Intel and AMD socket types.
Gelid Solutions has launched the SlimHero low profile CPU cooler that has a height of just 56 mm and features four sintered copper heatpipes and a 120 mm PWM cooling fan that together is rated for a maximum TDP of 136 W.
The CPU cooler is compatible with most recent AMD and Intel CPU sockets including AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / AM3+ / FM1 / FM2 / 775 / 1155 / 1156 and 1366 (LGA 1155). This, combined with its form factor and cooling performance, should make the SlimHero well suited for use in HTPCs or other compact applications.
"A Mini-PC provides entertainment in today's living room and a powerful but silent low profile cooler such as the SlimHero makes it happen," says VC Tran, Marketing Director of GELID Solutions.
The Gelid SlimHero Silent Low-Profile CPU cooler is now available with an MSRP of $32 (€ 25) and is backed by a five year warranty.

1 Hidephyco126 , April 10, 2013 11:57 PMThis is absolutely wonderful! I've had a project in mind for a while now and this may very well do the trick for a slim-profile HTPC I've been wanting to build.

0 Hidechumly , April 11, 2013 8:01 AMThe price point is good. There are better pics on Gelid's site. However, it looks like they're running into compatibility issues with motherboards and the profile of the heatsink already.
