Benchmark Results: Crysis

System Builder Marathon, June 2010: System Value Compared

Can it play Crysis? As we all know, this test is one of graphics performance and I/O throughput.

The $550 machine needs to be overclocked to reach its target 40+ frames per second at 1680x1050, while the $1,000 and $2,000 systems are butter-smooth at the target 1920x1080 and 2560x1600 resolutions.

Increasing Crysis detail levels to its “Very High” presets drops the $550 machine out of the running, while the $1,000 machine still reaches its target 1920x1080. The $2,000 machine reaches its goal at 2560x1600, but only after being overclocked.
