FarCry
For our tests in FarCry we used two different timedemos (created by "Bug") that are currently available on the internet. Cooler01 measures the performance in an indoor level (Cooler), Rebellion02 that in an outdoor level at night. The flashlight was turned on in all tests, and all quality settings were set to maximum. In addition to the average (AVG) framerates, we also measured the minimum (MIN) fps.
FarCry Rebellion02 - Normal quality
The GeForce 6800 takes a clear lead here, although it only has a small advantage in the minimum fps scores.
Note: The Radeon 9800XT offers a higher image quality in Farcry. It's unsure how much the GeForce 6800 Ultra benefits from the lower-precision shaders. See Image Quality in this article for more details .
FarCry Cooler01 - Normal Quality
In the indoor level, the GeForce 6800 displays its superiority both in the AVG and the MIN fps. The MIN fps of the 6800 Ultra are higher than the AVG fps of the Radeon 9800XT!!!
