Amped Wireless AC1750 Touch Screen Wi-Fi Extender Now Shipping

Amped Wireless announced it is now shipping the TAP-EX3 HighPower AC1750 Touch Screen Wi-Fi Range Extender. Initially announced last month, the TAP-EX3 is the latest addition to the company's line of wireless touch screen networking devices.

The Amped Wireless TAP-EX3 is an AC1750 (450 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 1,300 Mbps at 5 GHz) Wi-Fi range extender that pushes the range of 802.11a/b/g/n/ac compliant Wi-Fi networks. It extends range by duplicating signals from a router and sending them up to 12,000 square feet further, resulting in better coverage and fewer dead zones.

The TAP-EX3 contains 12 advanced amplifiers, one external high gain antenna, two internal antennas, and five gigabit Ethernet ports. The extra ports allow the TAP-EX3 to be used as a bridge to attach additional wired devices.

The star of the show, however, is the TAP-EX3's 4-inch touch screen display. What better way to provide a hands-on approach to our home networking than to actually make us use our hands? Amped Wireless claimed the TAP-EX3 features the industry's simplest setup; new users may set up the TAP-EX3 in less than three minutes with a tap of a finger. The touch screen also features a Digital Clock Mode to display calendar and clock info. Unlike most routers that remain hidden, Amped Wireless clearly intended for the TAP-EX3, along with the rest of the TAP line, to be seen.

The Amped Wireless TAP-EX3 HighPower AC1750 Touch Screen Wi-Fi Range Extender is currently shipping for $199.99. You can buy it from Amped Wireless's website now or from other retailers soon.
