Basemark Aims For PC Compatibility With HWiNFO Partnership

Basemark, which cut its teeth in the industry with mobile benchmarking software, is now taking aim at the PC market with a new partnership with HWiNFO, a company specializing in PC hardware identification and monitoring software.

Basemark started development of a VR benchmark earlier this year, and now the company hopes to become a trusted source of performance testing and hardware information for PC enthusiasts. The new partnership with HWiNFO provides Basemark with the architectural foundation it needs to detect PC hardware and software configurations, a proverbial "first step" into the world of PC benchmarking.

Using HWiNFO's software as its primary identification and analysis tool, Basemark is delving into a market often saturated with software suites that cost a hefty premium to use. It will be interesting to see what Basemark offers PC enthusiasts in the coming months, and even more so, how much the new benchmarking software will cost.

For now, we will have to wait to see what this new partnership develops.
