Origin PC Joins Mobile Pascal Party With Updated EON-Series Gaming Laptops

As the floodgates of new and updated laptops open with the release of Nvidia’s Pascal-based mobile GPUs, Origin PC joins the party with upgraded graphics options for its EON-series gaming laptops.

Aside from the GPU upgrades, Origin PC’s lineup remains unchanged. It still offers the same three models as before (the EON17-SLX, EON17-X and EON15-X). They feature the same processor, storage and memory options as their predecessors. The only difference is the new Pascal-based GPU offerings and the addition of a 120 Hz display option.

The new EON17-SLX can now feature up to two GeForce GTX 1080 graphics modules in SLI, in addition to a 17.3-inch 120 Hz 1920 x 1080 panel option. The CPU still tops out at an Intel Core i7-6700K, and you can cram up to 64 GB of DDR4 memory inside. There’s also a 4K display option and support for Nvidia G-Sync variable refresh rate technology.

When we got a first look at the EON17-SLX, we were quickly aware that this was one of the most powerful mobile platforms available (at the time), and that was with a GTX 980 inside. Now that mobile Pascal has arrived, the performance is even better, and we can attest to Origin PC's ability to overclock the components. We wouldn't be surprised if the GTX 1080 inside is factory overclocked. You can also have Origin PC do it for you, for an extra fee.

The EON17-X is nearly identical to the SLX, with the exception of SLI support. It can feature up to a lone GTX 1080 and can be equipped with the same 120 Hz panel or 4K display as its SLI-capable brethren. The EON15-X can accommodate only up to a single GTX 1070, but it can still be configured with an unlocked Core i7 desktop CPU. However, the EON15-X does not have a 120 Hz display option.

The new laptops are available now at Origin PC’s website, where you can customize the configuration and build your ultimate overclocking laptop with powerful new Pascal-based GTX GPUs.
