'Star Wars Battlefront' First Look Next Month
Electronic Arts' official Star Wars Twitter account has confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront will arrive on Windows PC, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 during the 2015 holiday season. EA also announced that the game will make its formal debut during the Star Wars Celebration event taking place next month in Anaheim, California from April 16 to April 19. The exact day of the reveal is unknown at this time.
"We could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it," the company's Star Wars-focused website said.
The upcoming Star Wars game was announced during E3 2013. Since then, both EA and DICE have been extremely quiet regarding the development. Battlefront is just one of many Star Wars games the publisher is working on as part of a ten-year licensing agreement it made with Disney. Developers Visceral Games (Dead Space) and BioWare (SW: The Old Republic) are also working on Star Wars titles.
"These imaginative teams will make games that may borrow from films, but the games will be entirely original with all new stories," Frank Gibeau said back in 2013. "Powering it all will be the Frostbite 3 development engine – guaranteeing incredible graphic fidelity, environments and characters."
EA announced back in April 2014 that Amy Hennig, the writer and creative director of the popular Uncharted series, had joined Visceral Games. The studio's VP and GM Steve Papoutsis indicated that her first project would be the current Star Wars game in development. According to Papoutsis, she's a big fan of the franchise.
DICE Design Director Niklas Fegraeus said last year that the studio is working on a Star Wars game that fans want to play. That's good news considering that the Star Wars franchise on the gaming front has seen a few duds over the last two decades. Still, a Battlefront-style Star Wars game sounds completely addictive.

Martell1977 I bought BF3 Premium edition for $15 not long after this last Christmas. $15 for the actual complete game, I feel sorry for those that paid over $100 for the game and all the DLC. Personally, I refuse to pay for DLC. It's a total scam, they create a game, chop it into 6 pieces and charge you over and over. It's great for their bottom line, but what a scam on gamers. Might try BF 4 after it's complete and goes on sale for a decent price.Reply -
