As usual, Flight Simulator X teaches us more about the drivers than about the cards themselves. Nvidia’s GTX 280 and 9800 GX2 both manage to outpace AMD’s offerings, including the Radeon HD 4870 X2.
Call of Duty 4
Call of Duty 4 marks the first victory for the Radeon HD 4870 X2, other than 1920x1200, where it doesn’t manage to exceed the GeForce 9800 GX2. In all other modes, it proves to be the fastest. Its improvement upon the GeForce GTX 280 can be measured at an average of about 25% (besides in 1920x1200) and shows a performance advantage of 43% compared to the Radeon HD 4870.
