Behavior At 44.1 KHz/24 Bits
Behavior remains identical but quantification in 24 bit mode considerably improves the signal/noise ratio, the dynamic and the stereo separation. The 1820 meets all our expectations. It takes full advantage of the performance made possible by 24 bit quantification.
Frequency response : obviously nothing changes as regards this setting.
Noise level : the noise level dropped below 140 dB throughout almost the whole audio spectrum! With the exception of two occasional incidents that remained.
Dynamic capacity : Here again, there was significant progress in the genuine quality of the card.
Distortion : Nothing new here, the same excellent values persist.
Intermodulation : Intermodulation reduced very noticeably...
Stereo separation : On the graph supplied automatically by RMAA, the scale was not adequate to show the slightest diaphony!
