Like the cartridge lifetime tests, the speed tests were not run in default resolution but in Text & Photo mode. This meant that the monochrome speed dropped from 10.5 to 4.4 pages per minute. In color, the difference is not so great: 3.4 ppm instead of 5. For home use, the C62 in Text & Photo mode is fast enough, especially as it is hardly any slower in color than monochrome.
You will not be surprised to learn that photo printing is rather slow, as this tends to be a habit with Epson. 10x15 cm prints take about 3 minutes, twice the time of the Canon i320, but about the same as the HP Deskjet 3820.
