Conclusion

The KT880 Neo from MSI comes nowhere near the performance figures of one of the fastest boards with nForce2 Ultra 400, the Asus A7N8X 2.0 Deluxe. Performance of VIA's reference boards , which we tested a few weeks back, was definitely better. MSI is likely to be able to iron out the performance snags in the short term since we have not yet spotted the KT880 Delta in the stores.

However, the MSI board fares a lot better when using the Asus board as a comparative pricepoint. Besides MSI's generally lower price tags, the VIA chipset is a few dollars cheaper than the nForce2 Ultra 400. MSI also throws in the CoreCell chip for dynamic overclocking for free.
