The Overclocker's Dream: Kryotech's Home of Cool Computing

This is the 'CPU capsule' for the K6 375. On top of the capsule you can see the thermal sensor. At the right side, the liquid freon substitute enters the capsule, at the bottom side, the freon substitute leaves the capsule in gas phase.

This is the cooling unit in the bottom part of a tower case. You can see the compressor (actually manufactured by the Danish (no, although Kryotech stated it's German, I was almost killed by 90% of Denmark, telling me it's Danish!!) company 'Danfoss') and the cooler, where the gas changes back to liquid, releasing the heat.

This is the 'CPU capsule' for the K6. Inside it you could see a labyrinth through which the freon makes its way through the capsule. There's a different capsule required for each different CPU.

That's the K6 system from the outside ... looks pretty harmless, doesn't it?

The Kryotech guys seem to have a very good sense of humor, something that's pretty rare in the computer business world.

That was an interesting read. Brings back memories of growing up as a computer geek in the late nineties.

Spelunking in archives can be quite fun :-)

Looks like Kryotech is out of business. The website link leads to a landing page.

I'm not sure this really made a lot of sense. All this for 75 more MHz. Seems like one might have been better off spending the money on faster hard drives, more ram, better graphics cards and such, or just saving the money for 6-8 mos. to get a CPU that, with conventional cooling, would would wipe the floor with a 375 Mhz. K6-2.
